i get the feeling that we won't see many buyouts until gold rises and share prices start to perk up. right now the majors are probably waiting for more 'blood in the streets' so they can feast cheaply.

the ones that get bought out early in the game probably won't get a fair price, and the ones who get bought out near the end will probably get paid even more than they're worth (based on future valuation).

i'm discouraged, but i'll be damned if i'll sell at these prices.

With this excellent news you just have to buy it. I picked up 16,500 today, that's about 1/4 of shares traded. Let's see the rest of us buy some. It's a better buy now today than it was last week. Perhaps people will hold back until money is in the bank. Remember Homestake walking away from deal with Inmet.

Stephen, i agree it's a buy. Trouble is, i'm looking at a couple more companies that are buys too. i've already got a nice little chunk of Birim. i think this is one of the most undervalued plays out there. the way these golds move is frustrating at times... but when they move...

regards,
-gru

I don't know, but I strongly suspect GSR offered to take the whole thing. The wild card is Bui, so I suppose Simeaneau can be excused if they plan a rapid, active campaign there. But just spending a couple million for a few more 17m, 2g holes, is not what shareholders really need. If it's more, I'll be glad to eat my hat, but I'm impatient and skeptical. Give me 38-40 cents and I'm out.

So what's a fair valuation for Birim shares?

Still waiting to see some appreciation on the BGI shares- it just seems to be in limbo.
AQI.V is starting to move, they have a gold property in Argentina that they are getting from Newmont, and it looks like they have raised more money.

These great results are on the property that they sold to Golden Star, they will only benefit from the royalty.

True, but some royalty. These results could well result in a mine. Do the calculation for a five million ounce resource, $350 gold and 3.5% NSR. Say over ten years that's $US350 x 3.5% x 10 million/ 35 million shares.

That's $160 million or $4 per share if I'm not mistaken. Say they distribute 25% of that in dividends. That's $1 per share. If true, shares should be worth what? $10? In a couple of years.

Then there is the Bui. And no more dilution either. Pretty sweet.
