This guy from R & R is a tool. Here are the three fundamental flaws in his logic:

1. Current intel processors use lots of SRAM, as will the new ones. The sales rate of PCs will drive demand (to a certain extent - see point #2) for SRAMs, regardless of which particular processor they use. A delay on a new processor is irrelevant.

2. PC-related SRAMs account for a small portion of Cypress' SRAM business (intentionally) - telecom and networking companies drive the vast majority of CY SRAM sales.

3. SRAM is only about 50% of CY business.

Nevertheless, I sold out at 15 hoping for the usual drop back to 12-13 range. Maybe this dumb downgrade will help me out.

The news hit the floor around 12:40 ET. And the stock was able to
maintain just $0.5 loss. To me the down grade is not significant to
today's price drop. It simply was just a profit taking as other
high tech stocks. Just my own opinion. Hope Cisco's earning
does not impact the entire high tech matker tomorrow.

If you take this boat, make sure you have round trip tickets.
We charge $12.5 to go, $15.62 to come back.
Try it. You will come ahead.

Yeah. . . Wonderland. . .

This firm (R&R) simultaneously downgraded INTC for the "assumed" (their word) flaw in the upcoming Pentium II. They make the "leap" that the exact same scenario will play out as it did in '94 (with the numerical unit glitch), which, if you remember (I'm SURE Intel does), INTC public relations bungled big-time.

Won't happen; already been there, done that. . .

Scope,
Do you do anything with covered calls? If so what is your approach
as far as how far out to go? I've been writing covered calls on this
since my entry point at 22 years ago {:^(}. I was looking at July15's until the downturn these past two days.

I sell calls near term, slightly out of the money: BUY ADDITIONAL shares, then write again. WORKS BETTER THAN WAITING FOR NOTHING.
For those looking for 12, I hope you are long term investors, cause 12, IMHO not likely to happen any time soon.

SToCK's RELaTIVE STRenGHT and CHaRT paTTern seem to confirm the beginning of something good, as I see it. Patience, patience, patience

GOOD TRADING !!!!

No nothing about the buy out. However, the May 15 call option still
very active. I got the feeling that something is cooking. If CY can
stay above $15 for a few more days then we may see a break out soon.
Just bought June $15 call again today.
