All Star Game? MLB has an All Star Game?

I knew they had a beauty pageant in July where fans vote in different rounds or something... sorta like American Idol or Dancing with Stars... vote early and often at MLB.com -- they tell you to -- and you get to watch your favorite beisbol player dance...

I don't think MLB has had a true All Star Game in a very long time... something about the 1957 All Star game forever exposed it for what it truly is (you know, the one where Cincy fans stuffed the box and elected 8 Reds to starting positions?)... <ggg>

John Henry has a big ego. Admitting he made a mistake might not come that fast.

Booby Valentine will make it through the All-star break. What may not make it that far is the consecutive home sell out record. I've lost track of how many years it's been since Fenway didn't sell out.

How ironic that rather than enjoying your torment I am telling you not to worry. But seriously, it's only May. It could be worse. You could be Mets fans. Whereas the Red Sox began to dig a hole from day one, the Mets went 5-0 and actually got expectations up before starting their descent. I can see the Red Sox hovering around .500 for a month or so, but the Mets will be digging their way to China as the expression goes.

As for the Yankees... Prior to Kentucky winning the 2012 NCAA national basketball title, their last six such titles were in 1949, 1951, 1958, 1978, 1996, 1998. If those years sound familiar, it's because the winner of the World Series in those years was... the NY Yankees! So if you believe in good omens..

That's an amazing piece of trivia! Looks like Yanks are the cream of the East this year, although Rays, Jays and O's are improved over last year as well.

Bosox may well have taken a step backward this year in a division where all other teams are improved. Gonna be real tough, as a result, for Bosox to challenge division leaders this year! Still early though!
