Geithner was fairly convincing that the recovery will roll on unless something unforseen happens.

72%of S&P companies have come in above estimates.

With all the doom and gloom I wasn't expecting that good a number for this quarter.

Bottom line American corporations are lean, rightsized and before they add any people of building they must know that demand is in excess of their capabilities. They are are from Missouri and the must be shown.

Heck if you listen to the class warfare coming out of D.C. they'd be naive to trust the word of any politician - especially if they fly a corporate jet.

All they want to do is give away free healthcare, increase taxes on small business and big busuness and the executives plus their jets and maybe even the cadillac health care program they work hard for.

Poverty and entitlements vs greed and excess pay with noman's land in between - and it is a big gap.

If Obama won last term on being a uniter - we need a new president - one that can draw the two sides together vs the polarization we endure daily now a days

Now that option expiration is, over we'll see what the MM's have in mind.

Can you believe even Mr Softee beat big than expected.

PC's are/were supposed to be off and Intel beat both ways - the only pick was 64% margins - that's a high class problem - considering the last 5 years they were guiding 60 or 62 percent plus or minus 2 %.It appears the "cloud is rewarding IBM,Intel and Mr Softee.Even when the Euro zone is off.

Business is still embracing efficiencies. We the people are the problem -don't hard all day and have expenses.

Even China is getting expensive - land of the cheap labor is not so cheap anymore.

All amzing transitions and all happening without a war - NOT BAD!!

Have a great weekend - I ramble but enjoy posting to a long time friend that was my first SI poster.

Best to you!

Bob

Here's a snapshot of my long term daily continuation SP futures chart... the support line is going back to the low in October of 2011... it looks like we're about to break that trend line if a rally doesn't happen soon...

I didn't say he was.

I said we need him to be.

Obama ran on a "uniter" platform of hope and change and he obviously has been discredited , as his words now violate his promises of his first campaign.

He is the most devisive president I've ever heard or seen.

For those who bought his first election's rhetoric -it must be very disappointing to them for having been fooled. If they do not feel their trust has not been violated - then they are not listening to his recent words.

We need a uniter, not by nice sounding and false rhetoric that get discarded upon gaining the power of the office - we need a uniter by leadership and action of deeds.

It appears to me Romney will be the opposing candidate.

He needs to provide a future vision and goal of America that does far better than split our population based on the haves and the have nots.

This devisive tactic is not what the American dream was about and it will not take us into the global and very competitive world with success.

For those who currently do not have wealth, a vision of self improvement and being in the land of opportunity
is what must be appreciated and become a motivational goal.

This" you don't haveit and that's not fair - so we'll take it from those that do" - is the hopelessness of mediocrity. It is the linch pin preachings of Jesse Jackson and the "Reverends of his ilk". It has been horribly trapping to the black community in general.

People like Collin Powell and Representative West from Florida need to be bigger Role models to the black community.Bill Cosby comes to mind as another.Examples of success and supremacy of their race.

Interesting that the first two came from the military with its strict disciplines. In my youth days the military took young people with poor discipline and transformed them into stronger adults. That is not happeniing now in the military - instead we have correctional institutions which breed a form of citizenry that is very vial and contrary to what I believe is constructive.

Just my view on what is needed - not an endorsement of Romney - but it assuredly is a criticism of Obama's nice hopeful rhetoric which has morphed into an embarrassing and destructive pitch of toxicly devisive themes.

In my view Mr Obama's term will go in the history books as a dark era of dreamlessness and apologetic mediocrity of America's past. His dreams are that of accepting a decline and with out hope or the expectartion of America being a societal bright spot, an experiment in mankind that will advance all on the globe. That's what leadership requires in my view.

Certainly not intended to be your vision or any one elses. It is just the guiding viewpoints that will form my presidential vote and views of what I want/must see in the next president.

One thing for sure - Obama's lack of credibility and turn from the original pitch will not get my vote.

I require accountancy in a president.

I may disagree with his/her perspective, but I need to know where he/she is and to be solid enough to stand on principle and belief in the adversity of the situation. That requires strength and character - the likes of which I've seen precious little in the fiber of our current leader.

It's simply an embarrassing lack of character for our country.

Simply said I hope that our next President stands for strength and character even in the face of adversity much more than he does for rewarding those who politically supported the current term.

Yep, things seem very bullish to me. The big thing is that the consumer is back.

Now short term, my best guess is that this sell-off continues through May and then we have a recovery for several months with a downturn in August-September. Or not.

It will be a good contest of fundamentals vs technicals.
