Ray, did you get your DTN real time receiver yet? The info I got on it looks good. Their software (Chameleon) even charts intraday, I'm supposed to be getting mine any day now.

Patti Got DTN receiver Tues. Hooked it up looks real good, I was not getting real time quotes 15 min. delayed .Got letter from DTN today saying before we can get real time quotes have to fill out 2 exchange agreements.Plus 11.50 a month exchange fees. Sent them in today hope i will be hooked up to real time Fri. but it will may be Mon. The charting in software is pretty basic.I am sure i will still need something like Live Wire.

I got my Box & software this afternoon. They advertised this Real Time as for Windows 95 & the software I got says Windows 3.X, did yours say 95 or ?? I haven't installed it because I didn't look at it until DTN was closed. I sent my papers back in yesterday. Only gave me 1 exchange agreement to sign, Nasdaq.

Ray,

Looks like Ron started this thread last December and got no response. He hasn't posted in a long time. In case you didn't know Live Wire has a webb page www.livewire-cablesoft.com. It comes in two versions, a personal investor and a professional. It gives you charts ranging from 1 minute intraday to hourly to daily to weekly intervals, 40+ technical studies, filtering capability and more. The new version, just released has fundamental filtering capability also. People I know that have it are very satisfied and even rave about it's performance. I have to agree.

DTN LIVEWIRE VER 8.0 AND RETIME

Ray, I have talked to DTN & livewire people both and what they
are telling me is that the ver 8.0 is not compatiable w/DTN real
time service offered at this time. ver 8.0 will work with the
old financal serv and the new box they came out with about 9 mos
ago but is not compatiable with the real time serv they just started
offering here in the last month.

I talked to BMI and they have a realtime option w/delayed stocks
for about 70.00 per month this includes realtime indexes and fundimental stock info. I think this may be the way Im going to
go. I plan to oreder the ver 8.0 first part of next week.

hope this helps

Ron,

Glad to see you started this subject. Been a LiveWire user since 1987 and love the program. I use BMI for my real-time datafeed because it is much faster than Signal (38,400 baud vs 19,200 for cable versions) and offers more information. Signal's FM and Satelite versions run at 9,600 baud. Have never used DTN so unable to offer suggestion in that regard.

Bill,

Cablesoft is in the process of Beta testing the ver 8.01 for DTN
R/T which runs at 115,200 and once they get it all put together
looks like it will be an outstanding value and service compared
to the other providers . DTN is still refining parts of the service
so it makes it hard to program for when it keeps changing.

Bill if you haven't seen it, you might want to look at a sync sybl using @scc and @spc. Take the @spc and subtract @scc and look at the results. also I notice that there is a PCRATIO indicator which is the put call ratio from the cboe.

How is DTN data received? Cable? Satellite? Knew they're working on system but use BMI here so haven't seen it. Entered the sync symbols but don't have data so can't take a look. Will see what happens tomorrow. Do you have a symbol for the PCRATIO?

Thanks,
Bill
