US Investment Bank Acquires 6% of ECI Telecom
By Orna Raviv
Californian investment bank Jurika and Voyles has informed the SEC that since 13 February it has acquired 4,513,718 shares in ECI Telecom, and its total holding in the company is now 5.94%. This was reported today (Tuesday) by the Trendline news agency. ECI's market value currently stands at $1.7 billion. The total value of the purchase is therefore estimated at $80 million.
There have been widespread assessments on the capital market recently that an attempt was being made to gain control of ECI, because of its ownership structure, which lays it open to such attempts. The largest shareholder in the company is Clal Electronics, which owns 25% of its shares. 9% of the shares are owned by Claridge, and the rest by funds, institutional bodies, and the general public. |
