CHNA and JCC

I think CHNA, China Pacific is a very solid value play. The stock is at $5, they have a book value of $3.80, good earnings and they've recently increased production by 50% with the addition of another blast furnance. Note the furnace came online last quarter and they still had positive earnings. The increased production should be available for the entire 3d QTR, ending Oct 31. If this stock is currently trading at a PE of 2 (!), and earnings ramp up with production, the stock would be worth over $10 share (and that is with the low valuation). The only problem being that its 1/2 way around the globe.

Also I would like to say that I didn't like the corporate profile at the Wall Street Insider Site. Too much hype! This stock is worth the money without hoopla normally associated with bogus deals. The stock was recently previewed in the respected Dick Davis Digest (Oct 14, 1996) and recommended by Investors Chronicle.

Has anyone an opinion on Jilin Chemical Corp (JCC on the NYSE)? My broker had a recommendation on them. They're main atrractivness was a 5% dividend and again a very low PE. The company had a rough last quarter and the stock has been trailing downward.
