Do you think it may be helpful for board followers and contributors to better distinguish posts/references to the technology (OLED) and the ticker symbol (OLED) by encouraging the use of UDC when referring to the company, Universal Display, and encouraging the use of OLED only when referring to the technology?
Exceptions may be when posting citations where the text is quoted, as is. - or when use of the ticker symbol is used in illustrations/charts, listings, etc.
A company name or ticker being tied to a technology or product of the same name has good and bad points, both now and in the future. I've owned PANL/OLED since 2002 or so and used to own the old ticker, OLED, Cambridge Display, which later changed its ticker to CDT and was eventually bought out by Sumitomo Chemical Co., for a nice premium.
I love the toll-taker position UDC is in but I am looking to hedge/benefit from the technology's growth by expanding investments in other growth areas of OLED and related tech. The growth of OLED will benefit within and outside the moat of UDC, just trying to figure out what comes after what comes next. :-)
I hope you can endorse this suggestion. Thanks.
