|My guess don would be 'yes' - if that person is a registered investment advisor anyway. |
Would a registered investment advisor include a message board poster who receives stock for promoting/shilling that stock on message boards like this one and iHub? If they are not 'registered' and they have been doing such promoting/shilling/bashing, then my guess is that they would be in violation of other SEC rules.
Unless NNVC springing for a sandwich and soda, and a couple of passable cups of coffee when I visited the plant in Shelton in May, 2015 counts as compensation, I've never received any compensation from anybody for what I write on these message boards. And outside of a few stocks/companies where I have done some significant digging on my own where I share opinions and some of my insights - I don't direct anybody's investments other than my own - so I am certainly not an 'investment advisor'- registered or otherwise.
Just thought that the topic itself might be interesting in light of what some of us have seen being done for many years now through this venue.
