No, but that's what they'd like you to believe. They monetize the people. Don't be fooled into believing they have some primary philanthropic goal.
There are many more companies besides these 3 who are and have been trying (for many years and under countless different models) to bring services to various parts of Africa, dating back many years. But those interests don't have the hidden monetization agenda because they are not in a line of business where that would be possible. Africa is a tough nut to crack. Not to mention China and affiliated companies pouring money in.
