Pretty sorry state when so many believe that prolific government spending is what drives prosperity.

Illusion of security can be sweet. It appeals to our inner baby. After a period of dependence, the government becomes the omnipotent daddy and mommy, bringing home the bacon and toys and good times. Their job is to take care of you, and to solve your problems.

I've had moments of weakness in my life when I almost wished I could believe this sh*t.
