I'm currently listening to some Gospel Music at Citifield. However, it is the Met organization that needs to be saved. This team has no major league outfielders, the worst bullpen iin baseball and desperately needs a right hand hitting catcher who can throw out an occassional base stealer and not allow as many passed balls as Josh Tolle, who at best is a second string catcher.This is a minor league team, charging outrageous pricesm The only players I see on this team are Tejada, Wright and Dickey. Niece does not condition himself properly and fizzles out the last couple of months of the season. Is he worth 5M? Hairston is a good part time platoon player. Edgin has guts. Whether he is a player is too early to tell.
Management is quiet. What is the plan outside of the draft? Bay and Santana are strangling the Mets financially speaking. Murphy is the heart and soul of the Mets, but I'm not sure if his defense qualifies him as a player. Ike is another big question mark? The Mets desperately need major league players. I would pick up Wright's team option over the winter and trade him for a couple of major league ball players. Move Murphy to his natural position and let Turner/Cedeno/Valdespin compete for playing time at second. Wheeler and Harvey need major league ballplayers to play behind them. This team is run like a joke.
