It seems to me the fundamantal question is why Apple is starting to lose early adopters. That's where it starts and end, IMO.

What evidence do you have that Apple is losing the early adopters? Because you've left? Do you have any links to articles or studies that lead to your conclusion?

I haven't seen anything indicating that is happening other than the anecdotal proof you're providing.
