I am reading that the Alawite are all settled along the coast. If the Sunnis get control of the Military, it might not be too tough to dig them out.

I understand that most of the Officers in the Military are Alawite, but I would guess the enlisted are Sunni.

In any case, I think Russia will be history there. The Military will be too disorganized to fight Israel. Open question on what will happen with Lebanon.
