I can only assume that the 8" iPad will be much cheaper (like $299) than the 9.7" iPad ($499). It will also have much lower margins and most definitely cannibalize the 9.7" iPad as it will be much lighter and smaller to carry around not to mention $200 cheaper. And yet it will still not be able to compete with the Nexus 7, by far the best tablet money can buy (half the weight of the iPad3, pixel density just as good, quad core CPU, 12 core GPU, NFC, Jelly Bean, Project Butter, Google Now, etc...)...
