<Today, the “powers that be” do what they like (including re-writing laws... even retroactively) without regard for previously accepted standards of fairness and in some cases without regard for current laws. Prosecution is selective. Our government is not elected. It is sold to the highest bidder. What if new rules were written that put you (any of us) in that 20% in poverty? Why would you be immune? How would you feel about "fairness" then?>
