Your transfer should have been a no brainer.

You just boot the old Mini holding the t key on the keyboard that is attached to it no monitor necessary unless you want to see it boot into transfer mode.

Then you boot the second mini normally and connect the 2 systems with a firewire cable probably firewire 400 to firewire 800.

Next run Setup Assistant and move your data from the old account to your new Mini.

Shut down the two systems and disconnect the 2 Mini's and restart the new Mini and your up and running.

You should ask us we are better than support and hassle free.

I've had a couple of new Apple Employees but they usually handed me off once I told them they weren't helping and I need the next level of support.
