I never expected my kids to act any differently than I did. Most of us quit smoking for years after college as we had business to attend to and it got boring. I didn't smoke much for 30 years and only started again 10 years ago when I also took up drinkng for the first time.

All of us in college were invloved in sex, drugs and rock and roll, and boy did we have fun!; why would we expect, or even want our kids to live a different life?

I did give the kids advice to stick to pot and alcohol and they both did. I have strict right wing friends who lumped pot in with everything else who lost their kids to heroin and meth. If you can get your kid to stick to alcohol and pot in college that is a win in my opinion.
