<<trading this from the long said can't possibly be a great strategy.>>

hasn't been thus far, that is for sure.

but you may be reacting to imprecise nomenclature on my part. i have several broad buckets, with the 'trading' being anything that does not fit one of the established buckets. i trade everything, sometimes over a short period and sometimes over a long period. being in the trading bucket is a signal to me that i should avoid developing an emotional attachment, because names in the trading bucket often get swept out when i clean house. they tend to be things i really should not own, but do for some amusement. over time, after i am able to get a better understanding it usually will move either to a a different bucket or out of the portfolio.

CIE is another name in the trading bucket, one that i added to today. just started my review of it, but it has potential to be a long term holding for me. but i really do not have a bucket for such things, so it will probably stay in the trading bucket for so long as i own it.

PS and OT i notice there are a much higher proportion of on topic posts today. It is wonderful to see people discussing turnarund stock opportunities on a turnarund investing board. thank you all!
