I'm developing my strategy that I want to buy back into Apple after next quarter EPS and stick around for the iPhone 5 launch and get back out after December earnings release next year
I am I am following similar strategy. I am completely out of Apple stock or option at this point. But the trading starting in early Feb has a return that is a little bit above 3x (mostly from trading 2 to 3 months OTM call). I ran the number with 26-30 million Iphone, 18 million Ipad and 43.5% margin (200 basis points above the guidance as someone suggested) and the earning come to be between $10 to $12. Right now the analyst estimate for F3Q is about 10ish. So I think we are going to be range bound for now short of some spectacular news from the Mac side.
