" But since republicans openly refuse to even consider a tax increase - democrats have no reason to bargain"

Thank God, the tea party has given the Reps a little back bone. How can they ask anyone rich or poor to pay more taxes in light of just a few things off the top of my head.

1. 60 Billion a year in admitted fraud and abuse in the medicare program.

2. 60 Billion dollars in addition to about 30 percent of the budget spent on education and we can't give poor kids a decent high school education. In fact there is a correlation between increased federal spending and poor quality education. In addition the school loan programs have pushed the cost of education beyond what most families can afford. I paid for college out of pocket from my earnings. My wife's parents one was a postman and one was a secretary paid for her college without incurring huge debt. Now the cost of community college is becoming hard for many to pay.

3. GAO study that documents the many programs which are duplicative and are not reviewed to see if they are working wasting more billions .

I can't go on I want to throw up.

Anyone who thinks our government is a good steward of our money is a fool. Anyone who thinks we get what we pay for is a fool.

If Ron Paul were elected he would not raise taxes, you claim to support him and then you criticize republicans for not wanting to raise taxes. I simply cannot understand why you continue with this charade that you are a Ron Paul liberterian. From what I can see you are a koan leftie.
