Generations

No one kept a keener eye on Freddie's first birthday cake than PopPop. Sitting back away from the crowded table, in the recliner, he was covered up from the cold that July afternoon. When mommy blew out the candle, Freddie laughed; then grandfather closed his smiling, weary eyes and slept.
