Is a 150k in sales really causing shortages or are we underestimating Lumia sales? Maybe Apple is skewing my sense of proportion in the size of the initial ramp for a flagship handset but that looks tiny. Samsung sold 1 million Galaxy Note units in the first two months and that was supposed to be a niche handset.

Higher than expected demand for Nokia's Lumia 900 has forced the company to push back its planned UK release date for the handset by over two weeks.
A company spokesperson confirmed to V3 that the handset would now be targeted for launch in mid-May.

"The overwhelming demand for the Lumia 900 in the US with AT&T has, unfortunately, had a small knock-on effect on product availability in the UK," the spokesperson said.
"The Lumia 900 is now expected to be available from Phones4U around May 14."
Update: Nokia has subsequently told V3 that it never confirmed an official UK release date for the Lumia 900 beyond the original "Q2 roll-out".
However, it also confirmed that Phones 4u will now be shipping the phone on 14 May, having first announced an 27 April date, while Carphone Warehouse is also planning to ship the phone next month.
The change in delivery dates in the UK came after Nokia warned users in the US that the handset would be in short supply.

A notice sent out by the company said that both retail locations and online channels would be experiencing a shortage of phones as the company worked to restock the handset.
The white Lumia 900 model has been in particularly high demand, the company said.
The delay is the latest in what has been a tumultuous debut for the latest Nokia handset.
While the Lumia 900 is selling faster than expected, the handset has also fallen victim to a high-profile software bug which left users unable to establish network connections.
Nokia said that the issue has since been fixed and advised all users to update their handsets to ensure they have a copy of the patched software
