Premium gets affected by the stock loan desks borrowing costs. As the shareholder base changes, they have to call different sources to find stock at different costs. The shareholder base is likely changing and hence, there you have it. Just a thought that State Street or Fidelity may not have the cheap stock around any more. Also, if the stock loan desk can gouge you, they will.
