I do not think so, any fossil fuel gasses not sequestered by the ocean would remain in the atmosphere , due to gravity, the total weight of the earth and its atmosphere would remain the same. In any case if the Earth somehow were made lighter by some mechanism would not that new, lighter earth move further away from the sun due to gravitational effects? I don't know for sure , just asking. Maybe its the way you say but the instruments science has can measure our distance to the sun or other planets with amazing accuracy using lasers, and your idea could be easily confirmed or rejected by some independent high tech operation. Other things in play as well, gyroscopic effects for one; also microdust hitting the earth adds up over time.
