Re: CBS Article I suppose one could make an argument why one should never buy a stock of any kind......and judging from the reports that many retail investors are indeed avoiding the stock market there is at least some truth to that point of view for many people. Every day we read other articles suggesting that MLP's are to be avoided in spite of the fact that we have seen MLP's grow and grow in value, daily articles scream about the evils and pitfalls of Closed End Funds, bonds, well they are to be avoided since an increase in rates will cause widespread losses in that category......and on and on. No question that the stock market is a dangerous place, I sure remember 2008 and so do many others here. After about 20 or so years of investing I certainly recognize that there are dangers as well as profits to be had here in the stock market. But when it comes to Preferred stock I think they are outstanding and I give a daily silent thanks to Lady Brehm and Lord Xot for having the generosity and patience to become a teacher to so many of us and having led us to the Promised Land of Preferreds. My opinion at any rate. Orchid.
