Would you really hand over your prescription pad to the people whose lives are in the firing line?

It would be an idea to let those with a specific illness and a certain level of intellect and education and interest to get together and write their own protocols and take meds of choice within reason. In this country we dont even allow optimal opiate use in the dying patient .As an MD I have Rx myself meds (not controlled) that I couldnt give you as there were not enough MDs using the med for a certain off label indication to allow me to do so.I also have refused prostate screening ,predicting the findings that came out last year (I reached thhe conclusion 20 years ago that PSA screening would cause great morbidity without improving mortality) that there is a 1% increased survival rate with aggressive Rx that has destroyed millions of lives.
