To me, the issue is not whether Malia took a vacation accompanied by 25 agents. The issue is that she went to a known dangerous area.

I had a lot of freedom to go out in the woods when I was 13, but no way would my parents let me go to Mexico or any foreign country without them.

Yes, the press should leave the children of Presidents alone, but they don't.
