ASP ASP ASP ASP Trefis predicted ASP's for phones would drop. They haven't. They have done exactly the opposite. Why? Cause virtually every trend -- smartphones, tablets, TV's -- is driving UP ASP's. Even low end smartphones are driving up ASP's because what they are replacing is even cheaper, lower-end featurephones. (3G is a minimum requirement for smartness). I'm not surprised the standard media is not talking about this very much. But I am even more surprised it is not a more common theme on this board. Some such as Slacker and Badger3 have pointed it out in the LTE arguments, but shouldn't his be one of the biggest things we try to flush out here? What are the ASP's going forward? IMHO the time to sell or trim your QCOM will be when this trend ends. Dan D.
