Ok, while I don't personally see a problem here, I'll cede to those who do and propose a simple solution: the addition of a revision date/time that appears in the index. This would not involve any input from the poster. It would be up to the reader to note if or how many times a revision to a post took place after they had read it and whether they cared enough to re-read it. If you really want them to re-read it, simply write another post to tell them! For example:
