As of December 31, 2010, the US Gold Corp / McEwen Mining held an interest in approximately 1,525 square miles of mineral concessions in west central Mexico.
Its primary property in Mexico is the El Gallo Project. El Gallo is located in Mexico’s Sinaloa State, along the foothills of the Sierra Madres. The Complex includes the El Gallo and Palmarito silver deposits and the Magistral gold deposits, located within a 13 km (8 mile) radius. Since making the discovery US Gold has advanced the project aggressively. Current resources for the complex total 39.8 million ounces of silver in the measured and indicated categories and 19.7 million ounces of silver in the inferred. Gold resources total 543,728 in the measured and indicated and 23,764 in the inferred. The company’s goal is to have El Gallo become one of the ten largest primary silver producers in the world. US Gold has approved Phase 1 development of the project and mining is expected to commence mid-2012.
