Merry Christmas everbody. Hope it is a good one.


Okay, I have a pretty cool Christmas story. It just happened last night. Ya see, my little Maggie has been struggling with the whole Santa thing. Seems that some of the kids at school think they know better. Been filling her head with thoughts. She's been loaded with questions and doubt. Anyhow we just finished dinner here and the dog needed to go for a walk so Maggie and I go outside with the wondermutt. Aside from the Christmas lights on the house, it is completely dark out with a very clear sky. All the stars are out and she asks me which one is the North Star. I point out a bright one a few inches up from the horizon. Then we notice it was moving. We kept looking at it and we see it flashing red. Wow. Holy Moly! She yells, "Dad it is Rudolph!!! That is Santa! He's coming!" I said, "I think you are right." She runs to the house to tell her Mom and brothers. Uninterested in venturing into the cold, they stay inside but she runs back out with a bag of reindeer food she got from her teacher. "Dad, do you think they will smell it?" Me, "Yeah I think so. Looks like they are turning towards us but still have a long way to go."

Maggie quickly spreads it around the driveway and then runs back inside and looks up the Norad Santa link on the computer and verifies his position and runs back out with all smiles to confirm that is him. The dog and I wink at each other.

With that, I decided we better get inside before she hears the propellor of the Cessna slowly making his way across the sky...

Anyhow, I am really glad to get another year out of her with this stuff. They grow up so quickly. I love this little girl so much. She brings me so much happiness every single day. Especially days like this.
