|Kallo, Inc. (KALO) Optimizes Medical Information Storage, Communication, and Processing|
Ontario based Kallo, Inc. is a provider of clinical, administrative, connectivity, and information solutions, plus related professional services, designed to help hospitals, clinics, physicians, and other healthcare providers deliver improved healthcare services. The company owns proprietary technologies that facilitate the accumulation and storage of medical information, including pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and laboratory data, into a single source, stored as an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for each patient and allowing real-time access at the point of care.
Solutions include EMR systems, Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), and medical device connectivity that, among other things, allows physicians and specialists to provide emergency services regardless of patient location. The goal is to make it easier for physicians, clinics, and hospitals to evolve to a filmless and paperless environment, with the net result being a significant improvement in patient care, together with lower costs.
In particular, the company targets three primary product areas, addressing key technology gaps in the healthcare industry:
• EMR – Kallo has exclusive value added reseller (VAR) rights to the company-owned EMCURX brand, manufactured by Mountain Medical Technologies, Inc.
• PACS – Kallo is the VAR for Candelis in Canada, and other healthcare projects globally.
• Capsule Technologies – Kallo is negotiating a VAR agreement for Canada and globally related to integrated healthcare solutions.
The company’s EMCURX EMR system enhances physician productivity through the use of tablet PCs, wireless mobile devices and smartphones, and desktop workstations, for automating common physician activities, such as prescribing, dictating, ordering lab tests and viewing results, as well as documenting clinical encounters and capturing charges. Their Practice Management solution integrates with the EMR system to combine scheduling, billing, and clinical information into a single package, with a variety of functionalities for manipulating and processing data.
