Whatever the case, it looks like another religious war. Android vs iOS. Get ready to take sides.
Ammmm... I'll take iPhone singularity over Android's multifarious origins any day.
And while I'm on the subject, how ironic is it that an android (not the operating system, Android) is a robot that takes the appearance of being human, while an iPhone is actually a phone that takes on the personality of being human?
And, while you're pondering that bit of engaging conversation, I can't help but wonder how much of a usage copyright Google could possibly have over the term android. Could it be that their rights extend to all usage in electronic devices, electro-mechanical devices, and devices of a component nature in which there is an aspect of communication? That would make Google the owner of a historical term in its proper usage, certainly a cause for a legal challenge. Or might it just be covering the realm of operating system software and its component parts? In that case, would it be possible for Apple to build or license a robot design from, say, Honda and market it as the Apple Android or iAndroid? Or, would that cause so much market confusion as to cause a rip in space-time, leading ultimately to a return to a point at which matter is infinitely dense? We must be careful with these things, you know. |
