The world thinks or is of the belief that world economics are run by pure analysis and research. If that was true then we would not have financial market "crashes" . Pure analysis goes only so far. It is inevitable that emotion/greed/ fear will overpower our practical reasoning.
Is it possible to be an active trader/investor in any area of the stock market without emotion/greed/fear? If an individual can essentially be emotionless in this very unforgiving business, the potential to be "one of the greats" is definitely there.
