So a year after Windows 8 is shipped for desktop PC's, whenever that happens, there will still be many more people using Windows XP than Windows 8. As for tablets and phones (and Zunes), Microsoft has been out of the running in that race for so long that we're nearing the point where most young people who live tethered to the world by their iPhones and iPads have never even heard of Microsoft; they relate to Bill Gates the same way they relate to Abraham Lincoln.

Unless they're going to put Windows 8 on the X Box. Then they might have something. <G>
