|RIM.TO In $29.78 Anyone have thoughts on this?|
Noticed one poster felt Apple was a great short sale for the LT. So far that isn't going so well.
Currently what I see ...
a) 29.67 is a high water mark since falling from the mid 30s - getting close to that today. New highs theory.
b) Change of key management at Apple. Can't say how much influence Jobs will have now - but we have seen this before. SBUX, DELL, MSFT - when founding management leaves chit happens. SBUX has done well since Schultz came back; DELL - still struggling with Michael's return. MSFT - just churning. Others too I am sure. I think this will be positive at RIM but for how long?
c) As a company/product I like APPL's chances LT regardless of the change at the top. But right now I see RIM (as a stock) having better value.
a) Yes the gap between 29.67-35. But then again if it continues to fight back it will fill the gap naturally.
b) Two CEOS (well that has always been the case but I have never seen it work; I am wondering if one is holding back with moving things in a new and flashy future; I believe the products are stale; there is not enough wow).
c) Seem to hear a constant droning sound - for emails there is no competition. But for that, many prefer the bells and whistles with non-BBs (Apple, Android etc). This will affect the "BB->PLAYBOOK" progression.
d) Even with Apple changing top brass, you still have Google and their take over of Motorola. Though I have read nothing but riddled issues with the Xoom tablet. If APPL can shutdown Samsung's Galaxy that will help APPL.
Don't think HP's demise will have any factor overall. Sad the way things turned out but no factor.
Anyways, a very small position in RIM for a short/med term run. Will see.
(PS ... Hi everybody!)
