|I can't believe all the discussion about caddies. Scott won last week because he had a great putting week, something very unusual for him. Since switching to long putter he occasionally has some good putting weeks.|
I doubt Steve Williams had much to do with him winning last week just as not making the cut in the U.S. Open had anything to do with having him on the bag there.
I think having been fortunate enough to caddie for Floyd, Norman, & Woods has a lot to do with the number of wins. He must be a good caddie or they would not have hired him. However, to think that these players would have been any less successful with some other good caddie on the bag would be as faulty logic as saying any of them owes their success to the particular type of equipment or ball they play.
Williams has caddied for Floyd, Norman, & Woods- all of them not very nice people. Scott seems like a really nice guy so I don't know if they will last together.
Scott fired Tony Navarro ( also a former Norman caddie) earlier this year and there was not much publicity.
