This may seem too easy, but have you rebooted the computer? Sometimes that solves issues. I am running FF5 on 2 systems, one XP and one WIN7 no problems. Actually never had any problems with any of my computers with all the releases. Been Netscape since 1994, then Mozilla after that.

What are you running at the same time as FF?
