Re: Sandy Bridge, for leaving consumers stranded with weak graphics, I dub thee Stranding Bridge.

AMD's integrated graphics has barely changed for three years now. Now that is being stranded. AMD can bump that up to four years if they recycle the 880G/890GX northbridge for Bulldozer.

While Intel graphics do have more compatibility issues than AMD and NVIDIA, Intel has taken the integrated graphics performance crown away from Athlon II/Phenom II systems, and by a rather large margin.

"This is a very small sample size, but the fact that the Intel drivers handled all of these relatively new games without crashing or producing obvious visual corruption feels like a step forward to me. That impression is underscored by the fact that the HD 3000 IGP is nearly twice as fast as the Radeon IGP in AMD's 890GX chipset. We're not getting our hopes too high, but all of the mobile variants of Sandy Bridge are slated to have HD 3000 graphics."
