Re: Nvidia has not come up with a faster IGP either (notice I did qualify that with a if competition goes above the 785G then clause).

Actually you said: If someone comes out with a better or much closer IGP in 2010 (not likely from Intel, but nVidia could get its house in order by the end of 2010)

Intel certainly is much closer in performance to AMD's offerings now than they were last year with their top IGP performance more than doubling in some benchmarks and seeing large double digit gains in many gaming benchmarks.

But of course AMD had it planned all along to cripple their customers chips by disabling half the shaders, until Intel or NVIDIA took the lead in IGP performance. Riiiiight.

AMD needs to differentiate their platforms from Intel platforms in a positive manner and they currently can't do it with CPU performance or CPU performance/watt. With the difference in IGP performance shrinking there is little reason left to recommend AMD other than price, which may be good for the end users but not necessarily investors.

Llano looks to be good but that doesn't happen until 2011, and initially the graphics are expected to be tied to to a Phenom-like core rather than Bulldozer.

BTW a 785G is between 5 and 20% faster than the previous 780G and the 890GX is between 6 and 27% faster than the 790GX in games. That is not the same performance like you claimed.

Typical pgerassi lies/deception when cornered. I didn't say same performance. I said barely better and at least I'll include sources here with my comparison:

Let's see:
Anandtech 785G vs. 780G performance in gaming benchmarks
anandtech.com
lowest gain: 0.7%
highest gain: 4.4%
average 785G gain: 2.6%

Tom's Hardware 785G vs. 780G
tomshardware.com
Similar results to Anandtech: very small gains overall

Anandtech 890GX vs. 790GX performance in gaming benchmarks
anandtech.com
identical performance between 890GX and 790GX

Tom's Hardware 890GX vs. 790GX
tomshardware.com
Once again almost identical performance.
