"This comment is absurd."

Don't presume the cash flow is easy to understand.

Content providers are not stupid enough to allow MediaFLO to rebroadcast their signal for free, freeing subscribers to abandon their higher-cost cable TV subscriptions.

It would be like Napster vs the music industry all over again.

All content providers, from NBC to CNBC(General Electric properties) to Disney and your local CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox networks are in a position to expect financial compensation from all entities who re-broadcast this programming in addition to the advertising revenue they get from commercial spots.

An ever-expanding portion of your cableTV bill, Uverse, FIOS, DirecTV, and MediaFLO is still paid to those networks for the right to rebroadcast (with few exceptions. CSPAN, PBS, etc.)

You can't expect advertising dollars to bear the burden of MediaFLO network costs with so many competing means of watching the same program.
