Heck, with the market under pressure as it is lately, I attribute it to nothing company-specific to Apple.

While we are on the subject of the market, I would be remiss if I were not to point out two things with respect to the media industry:

(1) The gains since the bottom last March have been nothing short of phenomenal. [see gains off 52 week lows in tickerspy.com

(2) The media industry has a record of outperforming in the early stages of a recovery.

What happens next is anybody's guess. I personally am in profit-taking mode until I see how things begin to shake out. It's really too bad because many of my best gains have not yet ripened into long-term gains yet. For other stocks, lovely paper gains have already started turning into paper losses.

In an age of technological change, it is sometimes easier to spot losers than likely winners. In that regard, it's harder for me to predict whether Apple and Amazon will be big winners than it is to predict that the traditional book-selling industry will be severely challenged by these disruptive forces.
