That's simple. The boss wants one and I have been waiting for LED displays ever since I saw prototypes a few years ago. It's worth it if you are in the market for a TV. Probably not if you already have a TV you are happy with. You are right, it is the other stuff that gets you to HD that will add up. Prices will come down and 3D will be coming up for those willing to wait. I don't watch very much TV myself. PBS regularly and ball games occasionally. My boss will be the one to enjoy it most. I may use the thing as a laptop monitor on occasion when I upgrade my laptop since that will be easy with HDMI.
