I have said it before and I'll say it again, democrat or republican, the special interests- read corporations and their spawn- are too powerful for government to do much against them.

Whether it's in the medical or insurance business, or in the prisons/criminal area, the interests arrayed against reform are probably too intense for any "reform" to be anything but a fat dose of cash for the businesses helping to cause the problem, or feeding off the rotting carcass of the problem. One man- whether it's Obama or anyone else- probably can't fix that. It would take a galvanization of the society- and with how angry and fragmented our society is, I don't see that happening.

I voted for Obama because of the supreme court. I'm a happy camper. McCain would have been much worse, from my perspective. But those who voted for Obama because they thought he could make large systemic healthy changed in the fat mass that America has become, I think you will be disappointed- I hope not, but I think you will. We live in an oligarchy, and the oligarchy will not be mortally challenged by either political party- not by the left or the right. (IMO, hope I'm wrong, etc etc)
