Smith's book is almost as good as his earlier work. I had quit reading him lately because his work had deteriorated. This, as I said, while not as good as his earlier, is well worth a read.

I agree. A good bodice-ripping potboiler. I am in the middle of it. His high point for me was "Sunbird."

We differ on the latest Leonard. I thought it was weak.
