Carl Johnson (the same editor of INFRASTRUCTURE discussed earlier on this thread) has just recommended purchase of COHU and included it in one of his model portfolios which are up about 68% this year,
In his commentary Johnson analyses the "excellent" third quarter results, the bookings and the fact that the "strong" earnings wre for a summer quarter when "traditionally" orders are softer. Johnson does not believe the "current consensis estimate" for FY'98 and annualizes this quarters EPS number to $3.40, a 15x multiple. He states "we could see a FY'98 EPS in the range of $4.50 which yields a PE of only 11.3."
Given this publication's excellent track record in finding the leaders in the early stages among semiconductor equipment manufacturors (ASYT, PRIA etc.) this recommendation should bring new investors into COHU.
