Hybrid Technologies steps up their game in the competitive EV marketplace with a teaser of the development of their Automotive X Prize entry. Popular Mechanics reports the company's new super car "crushes Prius and Corvette". Unlike most uncomfortable exotic cars, the design of the still unnamed X Prize entry centers around the passenger and drivetrain.

Hybrid is aiming for a 150- to 180-mile range per charge from the all-electric model, while the lithium-ion-meets-gas hybrid is targeted to hit 220 mpg-minimum. A drivable prototype should be ready by September 2008.
