It makes all kinds of sense when the ex-supplier has a proven record of failure and no capability or plan for matching a competitors products. The fact that they are going through the trouble of switching horses mid stream only serves to indicate that the horse they were on is at the very least no longer keeping up if not actually sinking straight to the bottom.
