OFDM has advantages. Advantages that make it perfect for Forward-Link-Only applications.

What happens when you put an OFDM tranceiver on a battery?

A couple of recent numbers out of Korea.

Korea Telecom now has 100,000 WiBRO users.

But (and this is a huge but), 89% of WiBRO customers have USB modems....you can only read the headline since it is a subscription only article.

SKT also has some WiBRO customers but I would guess that less than 15,000 customers have portable WiBRO devices.
